Halloween · With alcohol
Wicked Cider Punch recipe.
This adult Halloween punch combines two different ciders: hard apple cider for a crisp fermented note and nonalcoholic apple cider for body. Spiced rum and ginger beer add warmth without heating the drink. Label the bowl clearly because its apple aroma can resemble an alcohol-free cider punch.

Mix it well
How to make it
Mix the still ingredients
Combine the measured spiced rum and nonalcoholic apple cider in a large pitcher. Stir thoroughly so the spirit is dispersed before adding bubbles.
Prepare the apple garnish
Core and thinly slice an apple near serving time. Place the slices and optional cinnamon sticks in the serving bowl, reserving enough room for the liquids.
Open the sparkling bottles last
Pour the base into the bowl, followed by chilled hard apple cider and ginger beer. Stir gently and serve over ice with the alcoholic bowl visibly identified.
Serving notes
Use nonalcoholic ginger beer for the strength shown here. Hard cider, rum and alcoholic ginger beer vary in ABV; the displayed estimate assumes 5% hard cider and 40% rum.
Make ahead
Refrigerate the rum and still cider base in a covered pitcher. Leave hard cider and ginger beer sealed and add fresh apple slices only when assembling the bowl.
