Christmas · Alcohol-free

Holiday Citrus Punch recipe.

Cranberry and orange supply the color and fruit flavor in this Christmas punch. Plain sparkling water, rather than sweet soda, keeps the finish lighter. Cranberries and orange wheels give it a festive appearance without requiring syrups or a separate infusion.

For one party batch

Ingredients

  • 4.8 cups Cranberry juice cocktail
  • 2.4 cups Orange juice
  • 4.8 cups Sparkling water

Mix it well

How to make it

  1. Mix the citrus base

Combine chilled cranberry juice cocktail and orange juice in a pitcher. Stir well, especially if the orange juice contains pulp.

  2. Prepare the fruit

Rinse fresh cranberries and wash an orange. Cut the orange into thin wheels and remove seeds. Reserve the fruit for the serving bowl.

  3. Dilute with sparkling water

Transfer the base to the bowl, add cold plain sparkling water and stir gently. Scatter the cranberries and orange wheels on top, then serve over ice.

Serving notes

Use unflavored, unsweetened sparkling water. A sweetened citrus soda will change the balance; if you use one, taste a small glass before committing the full batch.

Make ahead

The cranberry-orange base can wait covered in the refrigerator. Wash the cranberries ahead, but add all garnishes and sparkling water when serving.
