Thanksgiving · Alcohol-free
Cranberry Cider Punch recipe.
Equal parts cranberry juice cocktail and apple cider give this Thanksgiving punch a tart fruit base, with a smaller measure of ginger ale for fizz. Cinnamon sticks lend aroma without turning it into a hot spiced cider. Serve it cold alongside the holiday meal.

How to make it
Redistribute the cider
Gently shake or stir the apple cider before measuring if it has settled. Combine the chilled cider with cranberry juice cocktail in a large serving bowl.
Add autumn aromatics
Wash and slice an orange, remove the seeds and add the slices to the juice base. Place a few cinnamon sticks in the bowl as optional garnish; they are not a measured liquid ingredient.
Add the ginger finish
Pour in the ginger ale just before serving. Stir gently, then ladle into ice-filled glasses, leaving cinnamon sticks in the bowl.
Serving notes
Cranberry juice cocktail is sweetened; unsweetened cranberry juice has a much sharper flavor and is not a direct flavor match. Use nonalcoholic apple cider here, not hard cider.
Make ahead
Refrigerate the cranberry and cider base separately from the garnishes. Add orange, cinnamon and ginger ale when setting out the bowl so the citrus peel does not sit in it for a long time.
